Is it the ride or is it the destination?

maybe both…..

Saturday they forecast that during the night it would drop down to the low 60s and the humidity would clear out…Sunday morning was going to be perfect. I kept thinking all day and before I went to bed Saturday night…."I’m going to be out there in that tomorrow morning somewhere, somehow!”

I decided on a bike ride instead of a walk. I really hadn’t been out much since I fell, and definitely hadn’t been on my bike because of the trauma to my knee and toes, but I thought it would be easier than a walk.

There is a pond nearby in a small housing development that I was familiar with. I had actually built and installed stained glass doors and windows there a few years ago. I thought it would be a good bike ride to start out with and then I could stop and get off the bike and explore one of their ponds I’d had my eye on for a long time.

I first thought I was not going to take any cameras and just ride. As I was getting ready, I thought I should at least take Little Red…just in case! Then I thought, the IR is small, and put it in my basket, too; and then Pete said you’d better take your phone with you in case you fall or something. So originally I wasn’t going to take any cameras and now I had three of them.

Mostly there were sidewalks on the way and once there I was able to ride around the whole complex slowly and leisurely and ended up at the pond on the way out. There must have been over a hundred white water lilies in full bloom. It was incredibly bright and sunny with not a cloud in the sky, but still so nice and cool.

This was taken from the opposite side of the pond from the first picture....
