Lost and found . . .

Maybe you’ll relate, maybe you won’t, either way it’s okay.

I finally found something that was lost for almost a year, something precious and irreplaceable to me.

When my mom died in 2012 and I was away from home for almost two months, I took about 4000 photos in PA, on the trip back with my sister on the Blue Ridge parkway, and then when we returned to FL. I had briefly started to go through the SD card after ML left for home and then got sidetracked with something else and set it aside. I had posted a few of the pictures on LJ and even made a user pic and called it “PA pictures.”

When I went to look at it again, I’d forgotten where I’d put it….that was almost a year ago, and I have been looking for it ever since. Every few weeks I’d look and relook in the same places thinking I’d missed seeing it. I exhausted every single place I thought it would be.

More and more lately it has been nagging at me and I’ve been looking more often. I started looking again today in the same places, plus a few more. I went through all my cards, put them all in the computer to look at them in case I had mislabeled them….no luck. I’ve been sitting here feeling hopeless when all of a sudden after all this time, I came across another box I’d stuck in the back of the closet and forgotten about. I sat here sorting through it for quite a while looking at mostly things that, at the time, I didn’t have a place for when I moved the computer into the studio and planned on finding a place for these things later and when I had more time.

I had gotten to the bottom of the box and lifted the last paper and there was this lone little SC card laying there. I stared at it for a minute before picking it up and reading the label. I could hardly believe it! I am elated! I quickly started going through the pictures and every single one of them, these tiny snippets in time that will never come again, that are so precious to me, are finally found.

Nancy’s house . . .

(Nancy is a good friend of my sister, and my friend, too. I felt so comfortable and at home in her house. It is filled with wonderful photo opportunities, plus warmth, love and charm. We spent about an hour there and I actually felt like I was being kind of rude not sitting down to visit, but I just could not stop wandering and snapping pictures. Now you'll know that "Nancy's house" is part of the PA pictures.)
