On the hunt - 249

We were abruptly awakened out of a sound sleep early this morning by the phone ringing. We both jumped out of bed, me in the midst of a dream I cannot remember, except to know it was a good one that I wanted to continue. I grabbed the old bedroom phone that has no caller id on it and heard static and “click-click.” Phone calls that early scare me anyways, so I’m glad it was nothing.

We stayed up, so that was good, because we both (especially me) have been sleeping in way too late lately. When I got out to the other phone, I checked and it was one of those “unavailable” numbers. I’m easy going and usually pretty accepting of most things, but phone calls like this are very annoying and we get several every day.

I did my “morning things” and noticed the patio thermometer showed it was a blessed 69. I could see a nice light breeze blowing the trees so I headed out with my coffee and camera to enjoy it while I could and before the temperature started climbing. What a beautiful time of day!

First I noticed the two feeders were empty, so I filled those, then walked around checking out everything, and finally settled in a chair over in the bird blind/roofover. First thing I saw was a mockingbird heading up into one of the raised planters. That colorful thing in the background is part of an old gazing ball that broke and I just could not throw away.

Well, time to get busy. Today I am planning on working on ArtsHop stuff, decorating (mosaic) a birdhouse with glass for some of my contribution, and also do some more of the studio redo.
