Another full day of working in the back yard. I think we are starting to see a tiny light at the end of the tunnel, but still lots more to do.
We took the four bird feeders down and left them down when we started preparing for the garage in February. They were pretty well worn out and so we bought two new ones and put them up today. Pete dug two foot deep holes with the post digger for the PVC pipe and we placed them on either end of the new planter. The planter is the focal point of the whole yard and I can’t wait until it’s done and I can show you all the finished product. Anyway, we had just got them filled with fresh seed and went over to sit on the swing --our favorite place now to rest. Within a few minutes a flash of red and a cardinal flew to it. We hadn't even gotten the ladder or shovel out of the way yet.
In less than another minute, his mate joined him.
I felt bad these last few months without the feeders in the yard and wondered how long it would take for the birds to come back, but I guess they never really left . . . YaY-I was pretty happy!
