I have been so busy the last several days going through some of my photographs and getting them ready for enlargement. I finally finished that job late last night and took 60 of them to be printed this morning. I will pick them up tomorrow morning and also get some new mats at Keatons. I also got a great deal at Michaels on some nice simple black frames. They were all 40% off and then I had a coupon for 25% off the entire order. I ended up paying about $8 for each frame! I’m glad I’ll have some new stuff to take to the gallery this weekend. Also, the Camera Club I belong to is having a competition with some other clubs on Thursday and I’m going to enter four prints in that. They asked for two color and two black & whites.
I tried to choose some different and unusual things this time around.
Night time song of the little bird. (see it there in the tree)
kapok
headshot
great blue in sepia
first white lily
tree orchids
lone sanderling
step off . . .
emerson point . . .
Robinson Preserve at sundown . . .
I was at the pond a few days ago and there was a Snowy Egret catching fish and putting on the best show. I could hardly keep up with him he was so fast. It was like he was walking on water . . .
Tricolor Heron (this is the one that was staring down the alligator at Myakka)
Nancy's rosebuds . . .
3 birds . . .
Spoonbills at Myakka State Park . . .
2 black vultures . . .
Many people find the vultures distasteful and are always saying "ewwww" when they see them. But really, they are only eating and cleaning up what others have brought down. Their wings alone are beautiful.
*** any favorites for the competition?
