a day out - 1/14/12
Pete and I took a little trip this past Saturday to Brandon, Ruskin, Cockroach Bay and a few other stops along the way.
Brandon Rookery--
Great Blue Heron . . .
Common Moorhen. They have such teeny, tiny eyes . . .
I need an ID on this one . . .
Little Blue Heron. This is the one I've mentioned before that is pure white in its first year, then turns blue and stays that way for the rest of it's life . . .
Limpkin (a slow moving, shy and illusive bird). . .
Here's another one I need an ID on. I can usually ID the larger water birds or shore birds, but these little ones all look the same to me . . .
Driving along the road I spotted some "pink people" in a pond. Pete made a U turn and we went back and there were a couple of Roseate Spoonbills . . .
This one looks like a juvenile to me . . .

The Ospreys . . .
Now . . . heading back to the studio!
