1. A quiet day here for just the two of us, unless someone stops by.
2. We are smoking today-a ham and four meat loafs.
3. We are giving three of the meat loafs to three friends and freezing one for ourselves.
4. Supper tonight will be smoked ham, baked mac & cheese (from scratch), fresh green beans, rolls, and a pineapple upside down cake.
5. Pete is out in the yard blowing the leaves. Temperature is 75 today! Gorgeous!
6. I checked my orchids this last week, and out of eleven of them, there are seven that have flower spikes starting. One even has two! I have five inside and six outside.
7. The temperature is supposed to drop into the 30s and 40s overnight this week. I am gathering all the outside ones that are in the tree, putting them in the wagon, bringing them up onto the porch close to the house, and covering them. They can’t survive below 50 degrees.
8. I’m trying to choose the photos I am going to enter in the County Fair next weekend and having a terrible time. Ten is the limit.
9. I have been watching this show on FX called American Horror Story. It is freaking and creeping me out! BIG TIME! It is the weirdest show I’ve ever seen. Anyone else watching it? Definitely for adults only.
10. And, speaking about TV shows, there is also one on the National Geographic Channel called “Aftermath.” Scientists ponder how long it would take for all evidence of humans to vanish. Talk about a strange and eerie show. A lot of thought went into it and the photography is very realistic and beautiful. I only watched a little bit of the end last night, then found it again and taped the whole thing. The little I saw last night really gives you something to think about.
11. Tomorrow I start the design for SD window . . . the excitement builds.
12. I thought I could think of 12 things. I guess #12 will be: Time to go and fix a little lunch for us.
Some of my favorite fog pictures. Early morning January 2011 at Ackerman Lake . . .
