I went on my walk late this morning because I knew low tide wasn’t until about 11:30. Went on the beach and saw this poor little starfish, stunned by the cold. I wish I knew what I could do to help in a situation like this when it’s so cold, but I do not know.
Far out in the water I saw something that looked kind of interesting, but I couldn’t tell what it was. I took a picture of it from about 40 feet away. I think it is a live pen shell. It looks like the body of it sticking out of the shell. I’ve never seen a live one before, only pieces of the shell. I wish I could have gotten closer to it, but I would have been up to my ankles in cold water.
And, making my way up off the beach and heading towards the little footbridge, I got a real surprise. There were my earmuffs wrapped around the wood of the bridge!
