Timing is of the essence.
Pete took me to the island for an early dinner at Rotten Ralph's on my birthday, then after dinner we were going to see the sunset from another beach on the other side of the island. When we got to RR, it wasn’t busy at all, but quickly started filling up. We had our usual fish basket and enjoyed the view. We finished our dinner and our waitress was so busy with her other customers, we had to flag her down to get our bill.
We were on a mission! We were on a deadline! You know, when that sun starts going down it drops like a heavy ball behind the horizon very quickly and the window of opportunity can be gone in about five minutes or sometimes less.
As we were driving to our “sunset spot” we could see we were not going to make it in time, so Pete found a little side street where we thought we could get a good view and he pulled in and parked. We quickly walked up on the boardwalk and I immediately started taking pictures. I took many in quick succession. It was so beautiful . . . breathtaking!
We were only there about 15 minutes from start to finish - it happened so fast.
This is a house that was behind us on the beach. Doesn't it look like there's a fire inside?
Going . . .
Going . . .
Going . . .
Gone!
And gone.
Another view of the boardwalk to the beach.
Going out the driveway of our house as we left for the island. Good clouds, so I was hoping for a great sunset.
We were seated inside RR and this is the view from our table of the outside deck seating.
