This old birdbath used to be the bottom of a fountain that I made almost 20 years ago. Back then, you could buy these huge terra cotta saucers for about $10 at Home Depot. I bought three of different sizes and made a three-tiered fountain to put outside our front door. The biggest one for the bottom was 25” in diameter for just $10. Unheard of ( Read more... )

That's amazing. I'm amazed you can make these things. It's so simetrical. I love the sun since I'm a fan of sun art anyway. My character Solan here is the sun god so I love suns. Orange and blue looks great and the small pieces catch the light so well.

Thank you. I love suns and the round shape. I like that color combination, too. The small pieces that catch the light are red and gold mirrored glass.

I know! Things were a lot cheaper back then. I remember Home Depot had just opened in our town here when I bought it. I looked the other day for the big saucers, and the largest I could find was 12" and it was $15.
