the sprinkles on top

I have spent the last two days at Local Government Web Network '08. There were lots of good speakers and I got to meet some other people in similar roles to me. I was mystified as to why more people didn't come, especially from the Sydney councils. It was so cheap and valuable!

Every speaker mentioned Twitter in some way so I signed up again (I have looked at Twitter before but didn't have much use for it). If I could get it working from my mobile without it being expensive I guess I might use it. Anyway, cyberiagirl. If you're on there let me know.

At the conference they had a lucky draw and I won a red iPod shuffle. It has the motto of the conference engraved on it; we believe in community. Not entirely sure what I will do with it at this stage as I already have a Nano and Seumas seems pretty content with his iRiver so I may regift it or save it as a backup for when my Nano dies.

Also today I got the latest copy of Salt and yours truly has a review published in it. I've never had anything really published in a format that gets printed out and read by people that I don't know so that's pretty cool. I mean, it was for free, and it was a little sad to see that it was laid out so that it took up one column of one page and the rest overleaf but it was pretty short so I guess it all fitted together best that way.

I had dinner with Becky last night and we found a restaurant owned by people from Xi'an! Just smelling the soup took me back! I will now be a repeat customer of China Noodle King! It was on Sussex Street but Eatability places it on George so maybe they moved. Becky is moving to Hobart for a few months. That girl doesn't stand still!

An electrician came to look at our security blinds and said our house isn't wired properly and doesn't meet the building code. Which may explain why our smoke detector throws fits sometimes. That's not exactly good news BUT they fixed the blinds enough so that we can have sunlight in the house over the weekend if the sun decides to come out. This morning I didn't know it was raining outside until I was about to leave. That does not help you make good clothing choices.

Tonight we watched Stranger Than Fiction. I give it 8 out of 10, very close to it's IMDB rating!

Seumas and I can't stop singing Flight of the Conchords songs. Seumas bought us the latest CD a few weeks ago (possibly the only CD in existence that we both enjoy equally... though we both have different favourite tracks) and now we can crack each other up with poorly veiled references.

There ain't no party like my nana's tea party, hey, ho!

Is this the most links I've ever fit into one post? I suspect so...
