I was totally going to do lots of work this morning... only then I didn't wake up until 9:30. ;p
I'm finding it difficult to find information on the way English is taught in the Chinese school system... Why are all my assignments for this class so hard and time-intensive? They're all so hard to research... even the help desk at the library agrees with me. All I do is mention my lecturer's name, and they roll their eyes. ;p
Yesterday I rocked up to 'be a presence' at youth group. Pretty much just sat and yawned with all the other girls... yesterday was a day of lethargy. Then I went to Seumas' house to go to a BBQ his family was putting on without him. Oh man, we didn't eat until 3pm! Crazy young couples who party til 3am and don't get up til 12. So Alli and I ate bread and dip for three hours. When the majority of Andrew's friends rocked up and food was finally had, we took our plates inside and watched TV. ;p
And then all of a sudden it was 5:20 and I had to be at practice at 5:30, so Seumas' mum had to drive me.
Oh, and I was joking about the fact that there is never any ice-cream to raid at their house, so apparently she brought some really nice caramel stuff for me! She said I could have some next time I came over. I feel a bit bad, I was just kidding around, but oh well ice-cream! I love ice-cream, and I crave it so often and get it so rarely...
I actually had a pretty relaxing day, just killing time hanging around with the Macdonalds. I like Seumas' strange family. I feel comfortable with them. That makes me pretty happy. :)
But Alli and I were watching things she'd taped, but the tapes kept ending at critical points! We missed the end of a murder mystery. There were many cries of exasperation, and Carolynne had to tell us what happened.
Church was okay... everyone was tired and flippant. We had communion, yay! I don't think we do that enough. Unfortunatly my hunger distracted me from the sermon. :P Afterwards we went over to Dan's to celebrate Andy's birthday. So I had junk food for dinner.
Oh! One of Dan's housemates Darrin (who comes to our church sometimes) is now THE NATIONAL AIR-GUITAR CHAMPION! That's right! He won the national title last weekend. He showed us a DVD of his winning performance at state; he's nuts! He wears blue spandex and throws himself on the ground! It's such a crack-up! And he and a friend made a short air guitar film and he got these random girls in bikinis at the beach to stand around looking impressed... ROTFL! But his wig keeps coming off, so he's got to work out a way to make it stay on before the international titles in Finland. Yup, that's right, he gets a free trip to Finland to compete against all the other national champions! And if he wins he gets... wait for it... a guitar. ;)
So if anyone wants a signature, let me know and I'll get you one.
OOOO! And the Cheerios came, thanks
wolfbrotherjoe! Mwhahaa, I made
jeltzz play 20 Questions to guess what his surprise was before I gave them to him. He got it down to a breakfast cereal, but couldn't work out which one... Then I gave him the hint "It's something Australians don't eat..." and he guessed Cheerios right away. Happiness from his happiness. :)
I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. Let's sort this thing out, yo...
