Kotoha, like the rest of her team, has a very limited ability to do magic. Her form of magic is known as mojikara, which involves drawing kanji in the air or on paper/canvas (in proper stroke order!) with her shodophone (which is a cross between a cellphone and a brush). Mojikara can create things (she's created rocks on multiple occasions) or be used in concepts (resisting things, attaching things, making things grow bigger, transforming herself, and so on).

Without her shodophone, she can't create anything at all.
