comparison of national anthems
Is it true that the national anthems of Canada and America correspond closely to the actual nature of these countries? America's national anthem is entirely about war and conflict, and, oh yeah occasionally they remember to mention what the reason is for all this fighting; freedom. It's also focused on a piece of cloth.
Canada's national anthem while still not really saying anything that isn't completely vague, is all about the fact that they like the place, they like being free. And oh yeah they'll stand on guard to protect it, which is probably stating the obvious anyway.
Now if you think about where the tax dollars go in these countries, I'm wondering how closely it matches the national anthems.
