I am a gem.

Apparently. I received this assessment via email from our London office this morning because I promised to send them a bunch of boxes overnight. I think they were just pleased to have the task completed in so timely a manner. However, I'm going with the idea that I'm shiny and am worth a lot of money.

Enough of that.

We are officially into the coldest part of the year at my office. The building's A/C comes on at the beginning of May, and all the little bunnies freeze their asses off in the warren. I'll need to remember to bring my NYU hoodie back in. Its official job is to protect me from hypothermia in the work environment. Right now I've got my spaceheater on and my door closed to lock in the warmth. When I go into the hall the temperature drops a good ten or fifteen degrees. Is it me, or is that a little much with the insanity there?

Yestereve, was spent in pursuits that should have given way to studying. What can I say? I did do some more of my mandated reading, so there is that much. I did enough, at least, to not feel too bad about taking the last two hours before bed to watch a DVD. I think "Anatomy of a Lye" has officially supplanted "Sex, Lies, and Larvae" as my fave ep of CSI. Because I know you were wondering. The bad guy is too good (you know what I mean), and I'm pretty sure the chop shop dude is now Sylar on Heroes. I do not generally watch Heroes, though, so I'll have to jaunt over to imdb to confirm that. Jaunt completed: yep.

I'm work-less again, can you tell? (Although, I did have to send an official fax this morning to track down some official paperwork. That made me feel productive and useful for all of about five minutes.)

I've started erasing my internet history on my work computer. I probably should have been doing that all along, but it didn't seem like a pressing issue. It's still not that pressing, I guess, just good sense. The point is that now I have to fully type in web addresses of my commonly visited sites instead of typing the first few letters and then clicking on the menu. How lazy am I that this seems like an unnecessary hassle?

Also, I noticed that LJ is offering a slew of inactive usernames if you want to replace yours. Are that many people really fed up with their usernames? Why would you pick it if it weren't something you liked and could live with? I've been earthling42 since I created my journal, and I was earthling42 in a couple of other web incarnations before that. It's a good, solid name. One that I have never felt a desire to get rid of. This is the importance of naming, kids. All those celebrities with their Pilot Inspektors and Moxie Crimefighters and Apples fail to realize that the names they've saddled their offspring with will be there for at least the next eighteen years. I guess an LJ username isn't quite the same commitment, but it's still something to put some thought into. You know?

Ooh, lunch time!
