I found this pattern on Pinterest and it made me nostalgic for my high school sneakers. I started these before the weekend and they are coming along nicely. I don't often pick up stitches along the edge of my knitting, let alone knit a few rows over too, so this is a new technique for me. I've used this yarn for slipper socks and they do wear out after a year. I knitted them tighter (Charisma yarn with no. 9 US needles ) as tighter knitting creates less frictiin and slower wear patterns. I've also made a second set of soles to make the bottoms a double thickness. I plan on sewing them on the bottom so they can be easily removed and reknitted when they wear out. Plus it will make them extra soft to walk on.
