E: yeah. now that i think about it, i don't know very much about your past at all. how about your parents? brothers, sisters? surely, there must be something you can tell me?
F: you ask about the unit known as a family? i'm afraid i have no such comparable unit to speak of.
E: huh...? i... uh, i'm sorry... now i'm the one letting curiosity get the better of me.
F: ah, no, it's nothing like that. i have never had a familial unit. certain eldarians are artificially bred through the use of carefully selected DNA, you see. such people receive education under control of the planetary government so that they may one day serve in the (???) of eldarian society. i am one such person. therefore, in the strictest sense, i have no family.
E: i see... do you ever feel down because you don't have a family?
F: no. i can't say that i do. i was always surrounded by my friends, who were selected in the same way as myself.
E: yeah, same here.
F: pardon...?
E: i had reimi, i had crowe... i even had people that were like surrogate parents to me. i've never felt down about my parents being gone.
