Time's Toolbox and Rings and Things

Hey, check out the cover of the new Stringing Magazine! Look what's on the cover! Its my "Time's Toolbox" necklace. Yippee! I have been talking about it on the blog, but I realized I never showed a picture of it. I am very pleased with it. I am off to a great start this year, starting with the articles in this issue. I have several more projects that were accepted yesterday for another Interweave magazine, so I will be busy next week writing those before I head off on my work vacation.

I learned that Rings and Things, the awesome bead supplier that carries the gunmetal chain and links that I used in Time's Toolbox, have a handy guide on their website that links to products from their catalog that you can use to make a piece like it. I'll share their text right here with you:

"In the necklace design on p 66 of Stringing's Winter 2009 issue, Melanie Brooks complements an Earthenwood Studio ceramic focal with gunmetal mesh-style chain links and gunmetal hammered oval chain. She keeps everything together and ticking with extra-heavy gunmetal 13mm jump rings, brass jump rings and an antiqued brass clasp. For a clasp more similar in style to the one Melanie uses, you can expand the mixed-metals look and try a sterling puzzle clasp."

Tomorrow, I will be doing a live blog event here from 1-4pm EST(with a giveaway and some other special events!) and then I will be closing up for a couple of weeks for the cruise. I hope to see you here at the blog tomorrow!
