The first week was manageable and trouble-free but eventually things started to get nasty.
In my History 1 & 2 class, Prof. Mangubat gave us this reporting technique based on dialectics. We were assigned a really broad topic in Philippine History which we would need to narrow down in to a probable Thesis statement. The topics, such as Pre-Hispanic Colonization and Post=Hispanic Economy, were really general that we need to research more about it to narrow it down and formulate our thesis statements. Then the thesis statement should be argumentative in a way that we would report and defend a historical fact not known to our classmates' point of view. @_@ I am nervous considering that critical thinking skills would be one component of a UP student. I just hope we can defend our stand well.
I have to read this really long and not readily comprehensible article about the issue of Social Science being a science in itself. I need to do a reaction paper about it which is due on Tuesday, I hope I would stop procrastinating and read it with a strong resistance to push it aside and watch Hana Yori Dango online.
Aside from the 2 major hurdles I need to cross mentioned above. I need to answer a set of questions based on the raw notes of this philosopher. It's really vague that I still have to decipher what the notes or observations really mean. Now I appreciate the art of writing compositions for easier understanding.
