Math 11 APE:
It was damn hard! I guessed 10+ out of 30 items. 7+ of which are so-help-me-god answers. Care to try solving one question? Oh yeah, the venue fro Math 11 APE is like an oven. The room's full with 55 examinees that the air-con is already choking.

A mixture of fertilizer and weed killer weighs 26 lbs. 1 lbs of the mixture is replaced by 1 lbs of weed killer. The new mixture now have 5% of weed killer. What was the percentage of weed killer in the original mixture?

A. 1.00%
B. 1.20%
C. 1.40%
D. 1.60%
E. None of the Above

So there y' go! Deadly algebra question to answer for 2 hours in an oven a dilapidated air conditioned room. (Now I know why the sudden tuition increase.)

Communication 1 APE:
I was clueless! You're given a very long expository essay entitled "How We Listen" by Aaron Copland. This essay is composed of 26 paragraphs. You are also given a short essay.(I forgot its title and who wrote it.)

Here are the questions
1. Read the essay by Aaron Copland and create a two-level sentence outline about it.
2. Read paragraphs 20-26 and write a precis about it
3. Paraphrase the short essay below.

@_@ I didn't know what a 2-level sentence outline is so I just outlined the whole essay the way I know how to outline stuff, and I wrote the outline entries in complete sentences.

I didn't know what a precis is so I skipped it and paraphrased the short essay. It was *nosebleed* hard. The author has profound vocabulary and he enjoys torturing his readers with it. xO But thank God for context clues, they helped me a lot!

After paraphrasing, I tried to answer number 2. There really is no way for me to know what a precis is because I heard one examiner ask the proctor and that gay proctor just replied: "I'm sorry but that is a part of the exam so I cannot tell you what it is."

A while ago I just checked what a precis means(thanks to wikipedia). Precis n. - a summary or abridgment.

FS naman o! *pulls hair* I could've done it, if I only knew. In fact paragraphs 20-26 is the most comprehensible part of the whole essay!

I really regret that I paid 500 pesos for this! I could've stayed home and enjoyed the rest of my summer than be in that old building that is about to fall apart, looking and feeling stupid! xO
