I'm sitting in a hotel, in Wichita Kansas, where I've been working on the end of the work project I've been involved in for over a year now. It is a nice machine, so nice that the room it is in, which cost as much as the machine, is still the limiting factor for how good the machine is.
In other news, over the weekend, I saw Apollo 13. I don't mean the movie. An hour and a half north of Wichita, a small planetarium started a space museum in its basement. The collection has grown a bit over the years. There is also an SR-71 Blackbird in the lobby. A few other impressive things too, but Apollo 13 is one of the great problem solving situations of all time. It was not something I expected to see when I woke up Sat. morning. I don't know that it makes up for living in a hotel room for weeks of 100 degree weather, but it certainly is a highlight of my time here.
