I've been riding now for a year. Once a week, although between January and March (when I was loaning Sonny) this went up to 3 - 4 times a week.
I love it, but I'm impatient.
I've been part of a class of quite advanced riders for the past six weeks. Initially it didn't matter that I didn't have as much experience and as a result I've learned quite a bit about impulsion and control.
However, the past couple of weeks my lack of experience has been a little more obvious. The rest of the class has been forging on ahead with jumping - and I've found it difficult to keep up. I need more practice at basic things, and as a result I've decided to drop out of the class for awhile and take some private lessons instead.
That, and there's a chance that I could be loaning one of the riding school horses this Summer, which could be a great thing if it comes to pass.
I keep reminding myself that it's only been a year, but dammit I want to be able to do everything at once. I'm just going to have to be patient and persistent.
