it's a weird night for me. my boss had just bid us farewell for a 6-month assignment in canada. i've been her assistant for a year and two months now, and the sadness of knowing she was about to fly off, helping her put together her requirements and credentials for international travel, and eventually watching her leave is not so easy. i've been holding back tears since early this evening, knowing tonight was going to be her last night at the office before she leaves. i remember, the first time she told me about her canada trip several months ago, i just broke into tears, shedding all professionalism and finesse aside. after that night, i promised her that i won't ever do that again, bawling like a spoilt kid in front of her. and so tonight, i had to draw my deepest of breaths as i we hugged each other goodbye. "behave!" she smilingly orders me. "and you better be here when i get back." ain't she sweet?
so yah, here i am at my desk, crying silent tears, unmindful of my foreign "office space sharer".
i hate goodbyes.
i'm sure my most favorite boss in the world will be back before we know it. and i'm quite excited over the south park doll she promised to bring me when she comes back.
i just hope my soul gets over tonight in the next hour or so.
