Thought I would update since its 4:40 in the morning, and I can't sleep due to pain every three hours (which is exactly when the medicines wear off and I'm allowed to take two more tablets.)

School started Monday, luckily all online classes so I didn't miss anything. I'm bringing work home later today -- so no missed money either. I'm really counting my blessings. The house deal should be closing at the end of the month too. Life is indeed pretty good right now.

Coltyn was three weeks early from his original due date of September 14th. I had been having mild contractions for two days starting on Tuesday. I called the doc on Wednesday because she asked me to if I was still having cramping. It wasn't the contractions that sealed the deal, though. When I went in to be checked, it seemed that his little heart rate was too fast again (same problem he had five weeks ago). They monitored him for about 5 hours and decided it was close enough to just have him delivered. I literally had nothing with me at the hospital. Craig had to scramble and find everything. My 2:00 appointment became my 8:30 delivery at the hospital.

The surgery went well. The spinal anesethia they gave me was quite painful though, worse than the epidural I had with Hailey, and my back has a nice big bruise above my tail bone. The morphine in it gave me horrible itching for the two days I was in the hospital and I ended up with shots of benedryl to help alleviate it, but it didn't really. It finally went away late yesterday. I was awake for the entire surgery and not quite so freaked out when everything south of my rib cage was unmovable. I got feeling back in my legs and feet around 4:00 am on Friday. I did get to hear Colt cry and Craig sat in the operating room with me the whole time. I did get sick during the stitch up part, but the doctor said I probably would, apparently 50% of all women puke during one of the layers being pulled. But the medications they gave me during helped. Sleeping at the hospital was much easier than sleeping at home though, thanks to the adjustable hospital bed. That is one reason I'm up right now -- waiting for the percocet to kick in enough to cradle myself in pillows on my back (a very uncomfortable position for me -- I am a side sleeper.)

In general, though, I feel good. I'm anxious to have my son home and get used to the new "routine" our family will have with another little somebody. I bought Hailey a shirt saying "I'm a BIG sister" and Colt a little onesie that says "I'm the little brother". I can't wait until they get to meet each other!
