i had the most bizarre dream on thursday night. i woke up and looked out the window and saw that the sun was a lot closer to the earth. so, i turned on the news and found out that the earth's orbit had been knocked out of alignment and our orbit was now pulling us closer and closer to the sun.
there was mass pandemonium. i was so scared. i wanted it to be a dream. so, i woke up and immediately looked on the front page of a newspaper and it was in fact true. life as we knew it was changing, drastically. people were dying.
then, i fast forwarded to a couple of months in the future. and people, myself included lived underground safely tucked away from the sun's deadly rays. humans eventually would time when the hottest tempertures could be felt on earth and a warning alarm would go off, indicating all humans seek shelter immediately or be burned to death, instantly.
it was a scary dream.
i just started reading a book about astrobiology which is probably why i had this dream. but i do have a lot of doom's day dreams.
from this book i have learned that our sun is a generation I star. and is located in a part of the galaxy that has very little activity. our sun is medium sized and because of this it burns helium and hydrogen at a slower rate than bigger or smaller stars. thus, the sun will burn for billions of years. all these characteristics are reasons why life is able to thrive on earth. the sun is very special and there are probably only 300,000 stars similiar to the sun (in the milky way)that could possible produce life. we are special indeed! as of right now the ratio to life in our galaxy thus the universe is 1/300,000. there are millions of stars in our galaxy but none with the ideal characteristics to support life. crazy shit!
