She glanced over at her father and smiled softly at him, he nodded at her, letting her know it was alright. Moving from his side she pulled her mobile from her pocket, and knowing Henry would have his on him, she called him. Rose had promised she would do at least that

Putting down the glass of whiskey I had gotten half way through I picked up my mobile phone that had just started to vibrate softly. I shifted slightly, bringing my legs up under me. Seeing her name I smiled wide and pressed the call button;

"Hello?" I said softly.

"Hey," She smiled, pushing a few strands of hair from her face, "I'm guessing you just got home right?" At least she hoped, it wasn't good him working so late.

"Yeah, just got in, settling down with a glass of whiskey and the TV" I yawned a little, running my free hand through my hair. "How are you doing?"

"I'm ok, just having a little time out. Mickey and Jake have been here all day, Mom's gotten David to sleep and I thought I'd call you."

I smiled; "I'm glad. Have fun? Work has been pretty steady today, a bit busier than usual. Sat and typed up a few reports, filed, sat and talked with Glenn for a little while, do you know him? He's a guy in the labs"

"It's alright, not bad. You know how christmas can be." Silently she opened the door and slipped in the room, closing it behind her. "I've not met him I...I miss you."

"Too many people, too much food, too much drink...yeah, I know" It was the same where I was from too, except I doubted to the same excess as now. "I miss you too... alot." Alot was an understatement but I didn't have the right to demand her attention, especially on a day like today. She deserved to spend it with her family.

"You did?" Slowly she leaned up against the door frame, a soft smile on her lips, "How much?" But the voice, her voice, it didn't come from down the phone, it came from behind him.

My head snapped up at her voice that shouldn't be that close and I turned around, my eyes meetings hers. "Alot" I said softly, honestly, hardly believing my eyes. I ended the call and put the phone in my pocket. "How much did you miss me?" I smiled softly, the surprise still in my eyes.

Ending the call she smiled softly at him, a soft shrug of her shoulders, "That all depends, how quickly can you pack a bag and get yourself together? Dad's waiting outside."

My smiled widened; "Oh, I think I can do that pretty fast" I got to my feet, downing what was left of my whiskey before walking up to the door where she leant, kissing her deeply before whispering my thanks and quickly getting up the stairs, packing what I could think of taking into a bag before returning to her again.

Smiling shyly to herself as he moved up the stairs, Rose walked further into the room and picked up his whiskey glass, taking it into the kithen and putting it in the sink for him.

When he was back down, she was back in the living room and her smile widened, "Ready to go?"

"Yeah, I think so" I said softly, simply watching for a few moments before reaching for my coat and slipping it around my shoulders.

"Henry..." Rose caught his hand and moved towards him, kissing him softly on the lips, "Merry Christmas."

I returned her kiss softly, gratefully; "Merry Christmas, Rose" I said, pulling back only briefly before kissing her softly again, wrapping my arms around her.

"Dad said I was moping," she admited with a blush, "I...I just...I didn't want you to be on your own."
