"Mickey boy, how good to see you!" the Doctor said, beaming greatly at him, "And blimey, Jake, isn't it?"

"Hey, Doctor," Jake said, nodding in the Doctor's direction.

"Well, if it isn't the prince of problems himself," Jackie's hands went to her hips, "How long you planning on staying this time?"

This couldn't be good, "Jackie. Lovely to see you again, eh? My, you're coming along---"

"Don't start that with me. How long, Doctor? 'Till you go off an' break my Rose's heart?"

He closed the door behind the Doctor and moved away, heading back towards Jake a little and the stairs, protective mode.

"Now come on Jacks, no need for this is there. We're all here to have a nice sit down meal together and talk. Right Doctor." For all the things he felt towards the Doctor, Pete knew his daughter cared for him deeply and at the end of the day it was her choice who she wanted to be her friend, or even more.

As she got to the top of the stairs Rose saw him standing there and it took every ounce of strength not to run down the stairs and wrap her arms around him. But it was her mothers words that stopped her in her tracks for just a moment.

Her pace quickened and Rose almost ran as she moved between her mother at the Doctor, "Can't you just leave 'im alone. For once mom, just let it all be." Her fingers brushed the Doctors and she looked back at him with a smile. "Sorry about mom, she's more than a little snappy because of the baby."

"So. Did you bring any of my stuff?"
