Between my girlfriend's experience and my own, the last few weeks seem to be saying that if you want to know whether someone will sleep with you, you should just ask them. Easier said than done, of course, but it seems more reasonable to me than it used to. Especially if, after all, what you want is just something casual in the context of an existing friendship. Treating it that way can't be such a bad idea.
The first person who came to mind when I thought about this is a friend who's visiting here in a month or so. I think the problem is that I can never decide whether the direct approach is nonchalant or desperate.
