on hospitals and stuff...
soooo i went to this horse show saturday.
I warmed Robbie up, he was a little relaxed, so i went into the first class i was gonna be in with him...and we won a blue ribbon (out of two but im pretty sure we would have done well even if the other person didnt suck well she didnt suck, but her horse wasnt responding to anything she did)
took him to the other ring, went around once and on the second time he flipped jumped and bucked the width of the warm up ring...i fell off about half way maybe stayed on thorugh 6 bucks. but i landed on my shoulder and slammed my head. Most people at the show were afriad that i had a concussion, but i dont. My shoulder/back on the other hand...
so after i drove home from that took a shower, talked to matt and kristen, ate and stuff; my back started to hurt when i turned my head. So i went and asked my mom if i should take anything for it. she did the whole nurse accessment thing she does and decided that it couldnt wait to be checked out. Fine whatever, i'll be in and out its just an X-ray i've done that before...
6 hours later-
1 unessasairy, bumpy ambulance ride
1 hour on a very hard plastic board
5 or 6 X-rays
lower back pain from earlier plastic board
2 hours waiting
2 minute of doctor saying he couldnt figure out what the matter was but i definatley knocked a vertebre out of place a little, or that could be natural he wasnt entriely sure, in any case nothing big
1 order for a CAT scan
1.5 hours waiting
im fine...but tomorrow i wont be able to move and i'll probably need pain meds.
gah!!!!!
even at the end my mom who is usually very patient with the ER because she used to work there was getting impatient and annoyed even though she didnt openly admit it.
today im proud to annouce i've been up and walking with out any pain meds except two motrin at 8 this morning im achey, but i always am after a fall. we'll see how tomorrow goes, since am always sore two days after i ride, i wonder if the same happens for a fall like this.
this is only my fourth fall in 9 or 10 years of riding. thats pretty damn good. its my second longest fall but probably my most intense one just because of the angle i landed, but i could have done much more damage im sure :) worse comes to worse i can call off work tomorrow, did i say worse? heh...heh...
