Advent Drabble 13 - Anniversary

It’s supposed to be a special day, and they’re working.
They’re usually excellent at controlling their own schedule, but Eames’s renovation fell behind and they’re recording late.
Arthur is suppressing a yawn. Eames slips up behind him, kisses his earlobe, and murmurs, “Happy anniversary.”
“Fuck,” Arthur says, looking at his watch. Midnight. “It was supposed to be more romantic than this.”
“What could possibly be more romantic than working my dream job with the only partner I’ve ever wanted?” Eames replies.
“In that case, every day is romantic,” Arthur points out.
“Yes,” says Eames, and the thing is: he’s right.
