Proper review! Even if it's going to make me late for work!
“They aren’t lonely. Rose, there’s more-” He cut himself off abruptly. Oh, poor Doctor! He's finally got the feel of other Time Lords back in his head after who knows how long, so he can't imagine anyone feeling lonely.
Brem suddenly emerged from behind the captain’s chair. He and the blue creature fell into gales of laughter on the floor, rolling about in glee. Obviously, the entire daycare scene is genius, but I had to show some love for the playdate. Because the thought of having the flippin' TARDIS to play hide and seek in as a child tickles me to no end. How would you ever find someone? Although I suppose at this stage the TARDIS keeps the number of rooms available for play down to a decent number...
“That’s totally different. Brem’s fine.”
“Mum,” said Brem, breathlessly, running to the kitchen doorway, “I think I set the radio on fire.
That, folks, is what we call brilliant comedic timing. And Rose's nonchalance just kills me.
I don't think I've told you how brilliant this story is. I love how you make the Doctor and Rose's relationship a normal marriage under extraordinary circumstances and lifestyle. The idea that something things - like marriage , parenthood and the struggles in them - are universal concepts.
It is a lonely existence for her. Even if she had friends she could be honest with, she still doesn't anyone who knows what it's like to raise kids who, well, can read Homeric Greek as toddlers. Which is what she needs.
So sweet that he noticed that Rose was the one that needed friends and that she especially needs to spend a bit of time with Jackie. When Rose said she just needs one person to tell her she is doing this right, it seems clear that only Jackie can give her this assurance. This family is so enchanting! Thank you for another lovely chapter!
So glad you enjoyed it! The Doctor can be a bit thick sometimes, but he figured this one out pretty quickly. Mostly because, if there's one thing he understands, it's loneliness. He's not sure exactly what she needs, but he's willing to keep throwing out suggestions--like staying with Jackie--until they find it.

As for the Doctor and Rose and their happy medium, they are working toward it, slowly. It's a slow, arduous, ongoing process, really.
