Grocery Stores Can Be Exciting

Today one of my housemates had a visit from her mother. Her mom took her shopping, and since there were extra seats in the car, I got to tag along. Now, this would not be exciting, except it's the first time I've been in a car over here (kinda freaky, especially those right turns). And also, it was just really nice to not have to carry home my groceries. I was able to buy heavier things that I normally can! Not that I bought a whole lot, because I don't have anywhere to store it, but you get the picture.

The Tescos was huge. I wandered around for quite a while, trying to find everything on my list. I toyed with getting a set of mixing bowls and a couple plates, but in the end opted only for the garlic press. I got some udon noodles, cream cheese (for cheesecake), a heck of a lot of veggies, and a pair of flip-flops (finally found some for a reasonable price). It was fun.

I've also got the cooking creativity back! I've been kind of blah recently, but now I'm more inspired. This week's menu:

Okra and banana stew
Shepherd's pie
Moussaka
Greek salad
Banana bread
Cheesecake
And minestrone, if I run out of things to eat

Yum!
