Thank you so much! :-)

I admit that although this story gave me a really hard time, I actually liked writing it a lot. Having Irene and Mycroft interact was fascinating and I was filled with glee to be able to write a kind of shippy story where the characters didn't get together at the end! Because well, life isn't like most fanfics...

I actually think this gives a lot of voice to a very plausible pairing. As far as I can remember, Irene and Mycroft had no interaction in the original story and her behaviour towards him - particularly her dismissing Sherlock to talk to Mycroft and going over to lean on his desk like some kind of mistress - was very thought-provoking.

So, basically, brilliant stuff. I love Mycroft's thought-processes; I could see him very clearly.

Thank you for that thoughtful comment (even though I'm a bit late in replying)! :-)

I'm happy you find this pairing (and my version of it) plausible. I actually noticed exactly the same things you did in the interaction between Mycroft and Irene and they did make me wonder about the actual nature of their relationship...

Also, I'm glad you found Mycroft's thought-processes comprehensible! It was difficult getting into Mycroft's head at first, but I like challenges. :-)

Anyway, thanks for commenting!
