Poor Sherlock! Moriarty's motives in this are so hard for him to comprehend.
This is a very nice use of the prompt!

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed my take on the prompt. :)
Well, who can honestly say he's ever fully understood Moriarty's motives? They are always vague at the very best, so at least Sherlock is not alone there... ^^

I enjoyed this so much. Thank you for posting. I like your line "Maybe if heroes don't exist,..." but you see, they do, hence they had better keep a sharp eye out for the supervillain!

Thank you for reading and commenting! :) I am glad you enjoyed this.
And yes - of course, we know that heroes exist (and that Sherlock is one of them despite his protests), so one can never trust the supervillain, no matter how innocent he might seem at times... ;-)

(was just re-skimming in preparation for casting my vote in the challenge, and I had to say, I love how you managed to fill the prompt... and yet make it that Moriarty wasn't REALLY being good. You know?)

Thanks! :-) That was exactly what I was trying to achieve - make Moriarty do something selfless and still keep it ambiguous what his motives really were... I'm glad it worked! :-)

My Sherlock Holmes is in Victorian London and that is where my heart will always lie. But having said that I must confess I rather enjoyed reading this. Steve Moffat...be afraid...be very afraid!!!!

Thank you for a good read! :)

Wow, that is high praise indeed that you enjoyed my story despite usually only reading Victorian Holmes. I feel flattered. :)
