Everywhere else in Europe haas been quite crap it seems, in terms of summer weather. But here in Burgundy it's blazing sunlight and high temperatures most of the time. I am spending all day at a nearby lake with my kids. I have never had a better suntan in my life... !!
My life in the village is really wonderful in many ways, with friends and neighbours always around. It's a very hobbity atmosphere - sharing veggies from our gardens, throwing bbq's, playing guitar and singing silly songs all night, taking our chairs out into the street to have a glass of wine together before dinner... that sort of thing. I am constantly thankful for the feeling of being in the right place. I spent so much of my life wanting to be somewhere else, maybe even someone else.
But now I feel I am living from the centre of my being.
