The exams are well over and out of the way. I receive the results by email on 29 August - keep your fingers crossed for me, people!
The coming week will be spent on the audit of a company which invests in football teams and its subsidiaries. My task will be preparing lots of stat accounts for tiny entities. That sounds quite fun in a sci-fi kind of a way, but less fun in an accounting kind of a way.
I discovered last week that, given that I had very little technical work experience under Andersen (clients jumping ship don't allow inexperienced staff much working time) I should be thanking my lucky stars whenever I get overtime to do in the future, since I probably need it to make up my technical days. I need 450 working days and have approximately a third of that total in 22 months of my 36 month training contract. I hope this doesn't become a problem.
The weekend was both fun and relaxing. After some house searching on Saturday morning (oh yes, I'm selling my flat and trying to buy another), I went down to Brighton. I purchased 4 computer games late Saturday afternoon. A few hours later, we decided that one of them was deeply crap (Haven, which has the most irritating music I've ever heard in a computer game) and two didn't work (Broken Swords 1 & 2 - quite amusing, given the title). We took them back to the shop the next day, got refunds for the broken games and a ten day goodwill swap for Haven. The new game was Wild Arms 3, which was played for several hours and is great fun. I actually like the graphics style, although apparently lots of people don't. It does do weird things to fingers.
