Saturday night and Sunday night I came home from work, ate dinner, watched an episode of Ballykissangel or Eureka, then took the laptop upstairs to catalog books in our bedroom. I suddenly got the urge to make some progress on that project. I did two shelves on Saturday and two on Sunday. I listened to Huck Finn while doing it and finished off the story last night. Finally. I had never read it in school, so I figured now was a good time since it was one of the top 10 challenged books for 2007. I read a few pages of the books, decided the colloquial accent was too much, and opted for the audio version. I can see why people have a problem with the language. It made me cringe every time. The story was okay, but I can't see what makes it so classic. Oh well, I prefer escapist fare.
Book I'm listening to:
The Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman
Books I'm reading:
The Rake by Mary Jo Putney;
The Far Traveler: Voyages of a Viking Woman by Nancy Marie Brown
