Gatehouse Progress

I'm so excited about the gatehouse. Friday evening when Eldred got home from work, it was too hot and humid to go outside so we waited a while before heading out for the test fitting of the roof. Unfortunately, it got dark before we finished. We discovered he needed to trim the panels anyway. We did get the frame put up with wall headers and lintels attached. I took photos. Rather than take it apart, we carried it to the backyard and left it overnight.

When I got home from work Eldred had finished assembling the roof. It looks *so* cool! I added more photos to the gatehouse collection. I tried to convince Eldred to pose with the roof. He declined so I climbed inside to provide some idea of the size.

Alisoun showed up just after we disassembled it, so she didn't get to see it. We headed out for dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. I had small chicken pot pie with green beans and the garden bar. It was really good. That's become my standard thing to get there.

After dinner we stayed up entirely too late chatting. Alisoun did offer some very useful suggestions about my garb including how to modify my purple dress to behave better. So, I went upstairs and got the seam ripper, which I put to good use while we talked. I also managed to wash 7 sheets that I plan to use for garb.

This morning Eldred cooked us pancaskes using the gluten free mix I bought. I thought they were pretty good. We chatted for a while and unloaded the pavillion and poles from Alisoun's van. By then it was time for me to shower and scurry off to work.
