Go Local Health Resources

Oct 20, 2006 18:52

I am still working on entering resources for the Go Local SC project. Last week I finished entering all the vets I could find. They were approved by my reviewer and went live.

Today when I did a search on "mobile vet greenville sc" in Google, the first hit is the Go Local page for Animal Diseases and Your Health. Cool!

I have a question for Reference girl.

Do you know if the Greenville News puts out a Large Print edition? I have called and gotten the run around and emailed and gotten no response and figured the library would know.

Dad publishes a newspaper so here I go...I bet ya they don't and won't but if they do how cool that would be (of course it's still a total fishwrapper!). It's be prohibitively expensive to pay folks to redo all the plates for the press, have all the layouts done twice, and use twice as much paper to print the thing. It's a neat idea but with the costs of newsprint having risen dramatically this past year or two they'd have to raise the price per paper up past the point most folks would be willing to buy it. Maybe you could pitch the idea of a highly edited largeprint edition with special advertising by businesses that would be catering mostly to the elderly. Hell, I'm going to pitch that to Dad when he gets back:>:>:>. If your gramps are having issues with reading it could one of those large magnifiers help?

Did you include My Main Man, Dr. Patch? Sure hope so, 'cos he rocks. And rolls. And everything in between.

Unfortunately not. I am only doing Greenville county. So, I can't even include the vet I use. :-(
