Okay, so I've been watching the Imus thing play out in the news and CBS has now fired the man. Okay.
My liberal heart is basically okay with that, but it leaves me confused and with questions.
Where were all these people who are so up in arms when Isiah Washington made his statement at the Golden Globes? Why isn't he fired? Why, in God's name, was he given an NAACP Image Award?
I'm missing something here and I don't understand how the one is okay and the other is not. Aren't they equally offensive? Or are we saying that only speech offensive to certain groups is offensive to all? How and where do we draw the line?
