I went to the Bishop Arts District block party earlier this evening ... It wasn't much fun until I found MK, then it became amusing. Our parents were dancing and that was kind of mortifying. We looked at paintings in an art gallery. I maintain that they were almost all about violent, gory death.
After that, I went to Borders, where I bought some CDs on sale and The Silmarillion. I'm attempting (again) to read Lord of the Rings. This time, I'm attacking it from a different angle and reading The Silmarillion and The Hobbit (most of which I remember from the time Mrs. Hoffman read it to my class in 3rd/4th grade) first, and only THEN attempting the trilogy. *sigh* I think these books only seem so daunting because the movies are massively fun and with pretty boys, and I get disappointed by the books because they have much less Viggo Mortensen.\
In completely other news, I have drawn two sketches that I'm entirely satisfied with. Neither is anything much, but each came out exactly how it looked in my head, which only rarely happens. I might scan them sometime.
