It's living inside your apt now right? You need a carrier. Leave it out where the cat can explore it and get comfortable with it, maybe put a little pillow in it, i don't know. But, eventually he'll be indifferent to it and you can put him in there without too much hassle. It might take more than a week, though... just forewarning.

Our kittens were handled a lot by a little kid from the day they were born, so they've become pretty much nihilistic. They let us do most anything short of giving them a water bath, which I hear isn't good for cats anyway.
