Jeeze. Woke up to a text today asking if I wanted to come in to work. We recently got a new department manager who has been far less inclined to call us in for extra hours, so it seemed a little weird to me. Especially since the door code also changed. I decided to take advantage of the overtime however, and went in.
Sure enough about an hour after I got there, the crazy lady in my previous post walked in, and walked with the manager straight up to HR. She came back in tears, and had been canned. She packed her stuff, waved goodbye, and just like that this chapter to her life was closed.
Everyone else but me in the department seemed stunned. For my part, I can't help but feel just a little bit guilty. I couldn't imagine this lady, despite how crazy she sometimes acted, doing anything violent... but at the end of the day, isn't that what people say in retrospect after many violent episodes? I decided that I didn't want to be that guy.
With that being said, she knows why she was fired but not who reported what. There were only two possible people, and I'm pretty sure she has her suspicions. She called me and told me some pretty jarring things, and I'm reasonably sure that she suspects me because she's closer friends with the other guy than she was with me.
So again, I can't see this lady doing anything rash, but I think I'll be parking my vehicle in the scary parking lot with barbed wire at work for the foreseeable future. I'm just glad she doesn't know where I live.
Since she's gone, that means unfortunately that I'm going to have to pick up some of the slack. I was supposed to have a long weekend to get some things done, but I'm not sure I'm gonna have a normal weekend until they hire somebody to replace her. Bleh. At least I do have BLFC to look forward to in a few weeks.
