Ok, so I don't really follow football all that much, but I do pay enough attention to occasionally keep an eye on the FL teams, U of I, U of M and OSU. I couldn't tell you any of their records, but my ears perk up when I hear people talking about these teams. So when I heard stuff about Bowl Games I decided to check out the rankings.
Crazy day in college football when U of I is ranked one below UF.
I was really hoping they'd pit us against each other in a bowl game, because that would just be fun. But such is not the case. So I looked in the top 13 or so to see where Michigan ranked (since UF is playing them). They are WAY down the list. And of all the teams to be ahead of them. . . UCF's Golden Knights?? Whaatt? The team that didn't even have their own stadium until several years ago?
I'm sure someone who's into Football more could explain to me the problems with BCS rankings and how they're not really representative, but I don't really care that much. Just thought it was interesting. :)
I have to admit that I'd still watch UF over U of I though. The Swamp creates so much energy in that stadium from the fans alone, it's a whole 'nother experience.
