You know what I want to know?
I want to know how I can get rid of my SSN. I will even forgo all of my contributions into the "trust fund" thus far.
I just want out. Now.
Surely the SSA can, like my health care provider, assign me a bogus 9-digit number in lieu of my SSN, which I can then use for employment and other purposes that require an SSN.
I wonder what are the ramifications of doing such a thing, if it is even possible. Other than the immediate raise equal to my current SS contribution, I mean.
