I finished everything on list #2 yesterday, and much, much more, but didn't want/need to keep coming up here once my friends arrived to help.
I feel as if I have the entire world at my feet. The house-overhaul is about 3/4 done, and if I can do this after 15 years of having *way* too much crap to fit in whatever space we're inhabiting, I can do *anything*. We cleaned out the *closets*! Still to go: the bedroom, my room, the back porch, the car, the yard. And a little maintenance work from yesterday. My friends' help was invaluable, but the (totally understandable) result of having 4 little kids visit was that Sarah's room is, uh, no longer as tidy as it was when we started out, yesterday.
So today we're going to do maintenance on the kitchen (dishes, counters, floor, stovetop), tidy Sarah's room, clear the LR and DR tables, wash the DR floor, spend an hour in the bedroom and an hour in my room, decluttering. Maybe do a first sweep of the back porch, tossing out the most obvious junk. Oh, and sweep and wash the hallways again, and dust/declutter the bookcase in the front hall.
Tomorrow we do another hour in each of the rooms upstairs, another pass through the back porch, a first sweep of the car, and a first sweep of the yard.
That'll leave going through the paperwork, and putting the finishing touches on the rooms upstairs, the back porch, the car, and the yard for this week. And K arrives on Friday. I think we're making *really* good time on this. Before she arrives we need to buy another air conditioner, buy a mattress for downstairs, get some new sheets, new towels/washcloths, and a new curtain for Sarah's door (and a tension rod). I am so psyched. Once all that's done I'm pretty sure I'm taking over the world.
Found a black widow spider in the grapes, yesterday. I've been minorly freaked out ever since -- you know the way you'll be itchy for an hour after people talk about finding ticks or fleas or something? Like that.
