Awake unexpectedly late (or perhaps not that unexpectedly -- I went out for tea with K, tonight, and wound up nursing a large black tea until nearly 10pm. The conversation went remarkably well. I am brave beyond the telling of it, and we cleared the air about the conflicts between the girls, and followed up with a long, wide-ranging conversation about parenting, creative passions, our own childhoods, alternative ed...). So, yes. It's nearly half past two and I'm wide awake. Apparently this is where they're hiding all the good TV -- CSI:NY, In Plain Sight, Leverage...

Watching the Zanzibar Marketplace Job episode of Leverage at the moment. Damn but I love watching Nate watch Eliot work. Love that entire scene -- Hardison paying off the bartender to ignore the fight, Parker's righteously wicked delight at seeing Eliot beat the crap out of Sterling. And the very opening, when Nate gives Eliot a hard time about the waitress ("what, I can't have a friend?"). I adore Maggie in this (although I always adore her, really -- competent, smart, snarky, funny), and this was the first episode I could look at Tara without it triggering a shudder of revulsion (Alex!). And, oh my God, Sterling's faux-drunken fumbling, starting to pee in the hallway, Parker's should-be-illegal straight-out-of-Frederick's-of-Hollywood dress, Hardison torturing Sterling with feedback on the comm...
