More school stuff
The past two weeks have been so cool. Yes, I probably will keep dribbling on about prac for a while. . . :)
I've met:
- someone who used 'diabolical' in a sentence - at the pub, in conversation, not trying to be a smartass.
- a teacher who's had 105 official complaints made about them in 3-4 years and can't be fired because of the way the state school system is run.
- someone who broke their back last year around the same time I did, with similar damage and in at least as embarrassing circumstances.
- a man who's gloriously and unashamedly soppy about his wife (and has been married 20+ years).
- a man who can fly, spell, play guitar and iron (yes, of course he's married!).
I've learned:
- never to give balloons to Year 8s unless you're on camp or in the middle of an oval.
- state schools have a significantly shorter school day than private schools.
- food is SO much cheaper at school canteens than cafes.
- music doesn't necessarily soothe the savage breast; it can also overexcite the savage beasts.
I've discovered:
- Secret Men's Business by John Marsden.
- more advantages to being physically fit.
