I spent the majority of my weekend watching the nothingness that is Television. One of the shows that I'm downloading,
Mad Men, had a day long marathon coinciding with the first episode for the new season. When I could have worked outside in the sweltering heat, I instead stayed inside and watched TV for the duration of the day. I would have watched the show on my own terms, but seeing as how my torrent software seems to take forever to download, I could not pass up the chance to watch the complete first season in all its continuity.
I also decided at the beginning of summer to spend some time at the local movie theater. Movies as a whole are quite expensive; for me they are more of a luxury rather than an alternate form of entertainment. I started off the summer watched a slew of films like,
Iron Man,
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and
Incredible Hulk. I waited a while and soon the summer blockbusters seemed to come out one for every week. There can be a theme to all the movies that were waited:
Wanted,
Hancock,
Hellboy II: The Golden Army (seen today),
The Dark Knight (possibly next week), in that I love my superheroes. Instead of staying inside and reading the
Winick,
Johns,
Millar, and
Bendis, I instead spent that crucial time viewing them on the big screen. In all honesty most if not all the movies were a far cry from a good book and some nice cold lemonade.
So what am I going to do next? It is to hot to work on the lawn, to troublesome to work on the interior, and to sticky to sit down and read anything. To bad every time I walk past a mirror, I notice in the reflected image, that it sure does waste a lot of it's time.
