every time i start to think i'm sick of putting up with customers' bullshit and my coworkers mistakes and drama and not making a set amount of money, a day like this happens:
*i had a ton of fun with my coworkers when we had a minute to breathe.
*the kitchen didn't fuck up any of my orders at all. i don't think i can remember one shift in almost a year of working there where this has happened. and usually it's like 1/4 of the time they get something wrong.
*none of my customers bitched about anything.
*i didn't get hit on by any creepy drunk old guys.
*they were all incredibly nice people, a pleasure to wait on, and were patient and understood that it was exceptionally busy when stuff occasionally took a while. also, almost all of them were generous tippers.
*someone asked me to pick up their 12-8 shift friday, usually a really good shift money-wise.
sooo at the end of the day i made $80 (typical of a good weekend night - monday lunches you can usually count on around half that) in just under 4 hours, on $350 in sales (that's over 20%, AFTER tipping out the kitchen and bussers).
sometimes serving is awesome :)
